Sometimes, We Need to Rest

This morning, I watched a bumblebee nestled gently on a flower. His wings were still, soaking in the warmth of the sun. No rushing, no buzzing, just rest.

How often do we, in our striving and schedules, forget that we were never meant to run on empty? There are seasons where strength looks like movement, but there are also sacred moments when strength looks like stillness. The season I grew the most in my faith, was the time in which I sat beside my son, Leo’s bed. In his stillness, my faith bloomed. Like the bee resting in the flower’s embrace, we are all invited to simply rest and breathe in the warmth of God’s love.

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

God doesn’t just tolerate our weariness, He welcomes it. He meets us there, wraps us in His peace, and whispers, “You are safe here.” So if you’re tired today, take a cue from the bumblebee. Settle into the stillness. Rest in the garden of His presence. Let the light of His love warm you while gently reminding you that you are known by the Father that loves you.
